The Gili Islands

The Gili Islands are arguably a highlight of Bali.  In just an hour, a ferry can transport you from Bali to the Islands.  There are 3 Gili Islands: Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air.  Gili T is by far the most populous of the islands.  It's where young backpackers come to party at night and lie on the beach during the day.

We stayed on Gili T for a few days at the Kupu Kupu Cottages.  This is by far my favorite AirBnb that I have ever had the pleasure of staying. Gili T is tiny.  You can walk or bike all the way around the island.  But despite its small size, there are plenty of things to do and eat.  You can take a half day snorkeling trip around the 3 islands, chill in the many cafes, or enjoy the beach.  I would highly recommend a snorkeling or diving trip.  We saw school of fish, coral reefs, and even some sea turtles!

You can also take a day trip to the other islands.  We took a boat to Gili Meno for the day and just enjoyed the quiet there.

The Gili Island is beautiful and if you want some time on the beach, this is a great place to be.
