Uluwatu is located in the south of Bali. It's much more quiet than Ubud or Kuta. This section of the island has some of the best beaches and temples.
In Uluwatu, try to rent scooters if you can. They are by far the most convenient way to get around in this part of Bali. There aren't a ton of taxis driving around, and without a scooter, you'll end up walking a ton (like we did). We stayed at the Surfer Cottages, an AirBnb.
Uluwatu Temple is the shining attraction of the area. There is an entry fee if you go, but it's small compared to the views. You can also go see a dance performance there, and the sunsets are supposed to be unreal.
Personally, my favorite part of Uluwatu was the beach. The beaches there are less touristy than those in Kuta and Seminyak. The surf there is great too! We spent the evening on the Blue Point beach watching the sunset. If I could do this trip again, I would spend more time in Uluwatu lounging on the sand.
